We simplify GHG accounting for businesses
About the GHG Shoppe
The GHG Shoppe is your outsourced GHG accounting team. We are dedicated to helping small and medium-sized businesses tackle the increasingly important part of doing business today - calculating, taking action on, and disclosing your carbon footprint.
Our expertise in GHG accounting — as former in-house experts and consultants — ensures that your business is able to efficiently achieve its objectives and meet stakeholder expectations. Our aim is to be your trusted partner for executing an effective and efficient process each year.
We support businesses across all industries and have direct experience across professional services, manufacturing, software (SaaS) providers, online retail, aerospace, energy technologies, healthcare, and more.
Founder & Principal Consultant
Brian Schoening
Brian is a seasoned sustainability leader and GHG accounting expert with 25 years of industry experience. As an aerospace engineer turned sustainability strategist, he blends systems thinking, analytical rigor, and hands-on execution to help businesses operationalize sustainability.
Brian has worked in sustainability for over 15 years. He previously led sustainability at a major aerospace & defense company, where he established the sustainability function and oversaw environmental footprint management. Starting as a GHG Analyst, he optimized the GHG accounting process including achieving the first third-party assurance, implementing GHG and energy management software, streamlining reporting, and establishing data analytics processes.
Brian is also the founder One Small Step Sustainability Consulting, where he is a Fractional Sustainability Leader and Consultant. He helps companies build the foundations for sustainability, including strategy development, stakeholder engagement and education, materiality assessments, and external disclosure and reporting.
Through his work at One Small Step, he saw the need for a cost-effective and streamlined approach for GHG accounting that small and medium-sized businesses could easily access — leading to the creation of The GHG Shoppe.
